| | We went Christmas shopping today and I am now done with Papa and Martha's gifts, woohoo, but still have everyone elses to finish. They're just going to have to wait till payday! | - Mission for the day - get Murder Mystery invites - accomplished. I've also got most of my costume.
- We just finished watching Ninja Scroll which I enjoyed. Had to set in in Japanese with English subtitles though because whoever was doing the dubbing was just horrible.
- Went over to Linds' new place last night and watched The Ugly Truth and Anaconda. Ugly Truth was predictable and Anaconda ... well, there are no words that can truly describe Jon Voight's Oscar Winning Near-Sighted Paraguayn Poacher.
- Taking the car to be worked on tomorrow; thank god for Mastercard.
- As always December marks (for me) the true beginning of the Christmas season which is always a struggle between what I love about Christmas - lights and decorations, music, presents - and the child of Ebenezer Scrooge and the Grinch, who finds a way to fuck up my holiday about 7 times out of 10. | | comments: 1 comment or Leave a comment |

| So no Murder Mystery Party in the mail today. Instead I got a notice about my Kaiser insurance increasing by forty dollars, which is forty more than I have and apparently its more expensive if you're a woman and I just want to go drop kick someone's head.

| So I know the lower level of the hospital, particularly the hallway in front of Nutrition which is across from Engineering, is the dumping grounds for broken goods but two chairs wrapped in plastic with 'Contaminated. Scabies?' Really, people?

| I'm struggling this month with my bills and I'm getting frustrated and unhappy and wishing I'd never switched to on-call. But I'm trying to remember that I switched because Kaiser was making me miserable - in the full on soul-sucking sense of the word.
So life has lately become a fun process of trying to better budget my spending while trying to enjoy my life. And its been a mentally hair pulling experience. I don't think of myself as a copious spender but I do like going to Starbucks. I do like being able to buy books. I love dining out. I miss being assured that I was going to be able to pay my bills on time.
I am desperately looking forward to Thanksgiving and the time and a half that I will be getting paid for it.
The past months have been a life learning experience but this month is going to kick my butt.
Anyway, despite budgeting Car and I are getting a tattoo on Wednesday and I know its not such a hot idea monetary wise but we've been planning it forever and the plan was for November. As a somewhat concession, I've decided to get the outline of the dragon and shield and come back later for the coloring and shading, hopefully in the spring. And since I told Mama what I wanted for Christmas was $50-$100 bucks, she'll be partially paying for my tattoo and that idea amuses me to no end. | | comments: 1 comment or Leave a comment |
